Rather than focusing on dishes I love cooking, I’ve decided to write a different post instead. Poilane is incredibly well known in France for it’s artisan bread making, I am fortunate to be able to get to go to their café bar in Kings Road in London rather than traveling all the way to Paris.
In general i’m not much of a bread eater, I don’t know why but if i were given the choice in eating bread or rice for the rest of my life, i’m afraid i’d disappoint the French as i would die if I were to be separated from eating rice. But never the less, on the times when I do eat bread, I do on occasions; when passing through Kings street pop into their little cafe bar. I find it very homey, relaxed and casual of an environment to be in. The dishes are made by the front of house staff in their kitchen bar as their work station. Call me a bore, but i always order the same dishes which are the soup of the day, salad and it’s sourdough tartine sandwiches which are the Australian avocado with chillie flakes and obviously the very rich, very French Foie Gras. This place is nice for when you need some alone time in front of the laptop, catching up with some emails, coming with friends or family members. It can be on the go too when you’re on a time schedule. Poilane’s café the bar has many pre-made sandwiches, so you don’t have to wait around long to get yourself a little snack. And for those who love pastries, they sell little delights. If i do decide to have a little treat, I definitely have it with a cup of latte.
Oh wow, this caused me major food envy!! thank you for sharing 🙂
